Be Our Guest

Looking to explore and improve your communication skills in a friendly and supportive environment?

Liberty Village Toastmasters

Guests are always welcome at Liberty Village Toastmasters. No appointment is necessary – just show up at a meeting! One of our club officers will be sure to introduce themselves and introduce you to the club. After that, sit back and watch how it works, or ask any of our members to fill you in.

You’ll probably be invited to participate in our Table Topics session, which gives members and guests a chance to practise thinking on their feet with a short impromptu speaking activity.

As a President’s Distinguished Club, Liberty Village Toastmasters is one of Toronto’s premier Toastmasters Clubs. We’re proud of the supportive and dynamic atmosphere we generate at meetings and we’re always happy to share it with new people, whether or not you decide to join. You can also feel free to come back as a guest as often as you wish.

At Toastmasters we know how much we depend on each other for our club’s success. If you think you might want to be part of that fabric, why don’t you drop by and check us out?

When is the meeting?

Our club meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to around 8:00 pm. The first 15 minutes are for meeting, greeting and getting set up, and the scheduled fun starts at 6:15.

Where is the meeting?

Liberty Village Toastmasters meets in Assembly Room C at the Harbourfront Community Centre, located at 627 Queens Quay West in Toronto (near the intersection of Queens Quay and Bathurst).

How do I get there?

Coming by TTC, the best way reach the Harbourfront Community Centre is by taking the 509 streetcar from Union Station. We’re at the stop just before Bathurst, just after the streetcar passes the Music Garden Park on the left by the lake shore.

Catching the streetcar that leaves the station at 5:30 guarantees that you’ll make it to the meeting with plenty of time to settle in and get comfortable!

If you’re driving, limited parking is also available on the side streets near the Harbourfront Community Centre.

    Hello,

I am interested in exploring a few Toastmaster clubs in the Toronto region. I have been a member of a club in Hamilton for two years now. I now live in Toronto and looking for a club to join. The next few months I am working on transfering my executive roles to other members before I leave.

How many members does your club have? What is the fees? Is there parking?

    Thanks in advance,
    Matthew

    Hi,

I”m in the midst of a career transition and the Toast Masters environment looks like like a good option for getting comfortable with public speaking skills. Do you allow people to drop into a session? As with the prior post by Matthew, I’m also wondering about the fees for your club.

    Many thanks,
    Mimi

    • Thanks for your interest in Toastmasters. Feel free to drop in anytime to get a sense of what our club is all about. We would be more than happy to discuss further any questions you have. In terms of fees, it’s quite minimal – around $75 every six months plus a small fee for workbooks.

Hope to see you at our future meetings!

    • Hey there,

Thanks for the awesome feedback! Our website and YouTube channel wouldn’t be what it is without the contributions of our club’s members. Kudos to them for contributing and giving so much back to the club.

It will feature a number of speakers along with a “debate-style” table topics session. It’s going to be a great night! You are definitely welcome to drop by for this meeting. Here are the details:
Theme: Joint Meeting with the Go-Getters
      Toastmaster: Bing
      Date: Wednesday, March 2, 2011
      Time: 6 – 8 pm
Location: Assembly Room B (the large room just past the main office), Harbourfront Community Centre, 627 Queens Quay West, Toronto (Queens Quay & Bathurst)

My wife Leslie and I attended last night. We had a great time at the meeting and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know some of the members at little more at the social activity afterwards. We look forward to becoming members!

  8. Paul, it was a pleasure to have both you and Leslie as our guests. You added a lot of enthusiasm to the meeting and lead some very interesting conversations at the bar!

We look forward to having both you and Leslie as members of our club, and we can’t wait to hear the stories and knowledge that you’ll share with us.

    See you next week!
