Join us for our meeting on September 14: Forging Steel through Fire

When we think of forging objects – the nerd in some of us will think of the “precious” being forged in the depths of Mount Doom.
LOTR references aside, this week Toastmaster Francisco will take us on a journey of how our characters are molded and forged, much like the precious and Frodo’s journey or steel being forged into a horseshoe – when we are faced with heat and difficult circumstances.

Come join us this wednesday to find out more 🙂

Join us for our meeting on August 17: Sharing the road, sharing our city

There’s been a long simmering animosity between drivers and cyclists in our city. Some drivers think they own the road and some cyclists think they are exempt from basic rules of the road. Programs such as Bixi have encouraged more people to take to the streets on two wheels. Tensions will only increase between drivers and cyclists now that more people on two wheels are occupying the streets. Toastmaster Simon will address this issue and lessons that can come out of this.

Join us for our meeting on August 10: Transportation!

Do you recall Mr.Bean’s roadrage with the three wheeled car? I bet you can relate to him on some level. We all have moments of frustration when we commute, drive or fly.

Everyday we move about the city, the country, and the world by way of planes, trains, and automobiles. Why do we choose the modes of transportation we do? Cost, convenience, comfort? Toastmaster Luke is always on the move and will share with us some of his experiences related to transportation.
