Recap for Feb 19, 2014

By Clem D

Last night we inducted three new members into our club: Julia, Alex and Zaharah.  All the best as you learn to grow and succeed at Toastmasters.

Please welcome our new “Drill“ Sergeant at Arms… Felix.  Hope you are all ready for a workout !!

Clem was our Toastmaster and he encouraged us to accept being a “cracked pot”.  We are not born perfect. But we are all born with a purpose.

We listened to two great speakers: Yury and Alana.

Yury informed us that our club was “sick “and that we needed to take the necessary steps to remedy the situation.  (1) Set a goal. (2) Get a mentor. (3) Track our progress in real time.  These steps will help us achieve success as a group as well as personal self-development.

Alana added to this concept of self-development by  presenting to us ( 5 ) ways to design our lives.  These points are very key to helping us become a better and fulfilled person.

(1)    Know your personal comfort zone

(2)    Learn to network

(3)    Create a life plan

(4)    Purge the old; make room for the new

(5)    Accept the new chapter in your life

Our Table Topics winner was Sean.
