Nirvana — April 6 Meeting Recap

What’s your happiest moment?

In her first time as Toastmaster, Cristina shared some spirituality — including how yoga helps her find her happiest moments… her nirvana. Jordan continued the good vibes with a comedic take on what makes us all the same (hint: Adele songs), while Bob inspired us to put happiness into practice with the Law of Attraction (his CC#10!).

Congrats to Cristina and Wes, whose tales of their childhoods netted them both Best Table Topics awards… Toastmasters nirvana!

Mohammed will be our Toastmaster, and we’ll hear speeches from Wes, Karoline, and a special presentation by division-level speech contest winner Carmelita!

Shoot for the Moon — March 2 Meeting Recap

When is the impossible, possible?

…when you believe it can be done, of course. First-time Toastmaster Jordan kicked off the meeting with a challenge: ignore the naysayers and shoot for the moon. Wes showed us how to shoot straight for the aisle seat the next time we board a plane, while John gave us an inside look at life as a Hollywood background actor!!

Congrats to our guest DJ, who shared Table Topics honours with Mark, and to Lakshman, voted in as our club’s newest member. View the video of Lakshman’s induction here:

March 1 Area Contest Recap

They braved the snow, their nerves, and of course, the judges….

Congrats to Mark and James for competing in the Area-level speech contest, providing lessons on procrastination and getting what you really want in life… leaving us all inspired to make our lives better. And congrats to Wes and James for delivering composed and effective evaluations, making Liberty Village Toastmasters proud.

You’ve come a long way in such a short time, proof that with perseverance and practice, Toastmasters works.
