Message in a bottle from John: Good-bye, but keep in touch!

With the beginning of the New Year, one of our strongest mentors and dearest friends has decided to start a new professional journey in the U.S. John has had an impressive Toastmasters career, leading our club as both VP of Education and President. John is well-known for his impeccable work ethic and perseverance, which inspired many of us to challenge ourselves and stretch our boundaries! Here is John’s good-bye message:

Dear fellow Liberty Village Toastmasters,

For those of you who I haven’t had time to update personally, I recently received an exciting opportunity to take a position with a biotech company in Cincinnati, Ohio. The catch was I had to move quickly to take advantage of the offer. I have now relocated to the U.S. and I’m getting acclimatized to the company and the country as quickly as I can. I am excited to be working in my preferred field with such an excellent company, but saddened at the fact of leaving so many good friends behind in Toronto. Moments like this are often bittersweet.

I will miss our meetings, our member’s speeches, and of course the excellent camaraderie I was fortunate to be able to share with you during my time at Liberty Village. I will be back in Toronto from time to time, and will do my best to drop in on meetings (or the pub!) when I can. In the interim, I would invite all members to connect with me on LinkedIn, Facebook or contact me via email. I will be happy to hear from you, and will continue to assist you in any way I can. You have only to ask. Naturally, I wish you all the best as Toastmasters and friends, and trust you will continue with your Toastmasters journey at Liberty Village. You couldn’t belong to a better club!

Sincerely,

John
