Recap- March 19, 2014

By Clem D

Ted was our Toastmaster and he spoke about how technology was becoming the forefront for a booming Eco-friendly industry.

James spoke about the benefits of “Feedback” such as:                                                                  a)It saves resources   b) It reduces stress and  c) It will help us to make progress.              His story of The Emperor’s New Clothes was a great example of how feedback can save us from embarrassment if we choose to listen to it.

Mohamed K informed us that “Loyalty Programs” offered by many businesses are a way of rewarding existing clients and attracting potential clients.  Mohamed also brought to our attention that we need to aware of the dangers such as, expiry dates and leaving an information footprint.

Karoline’s message on “Human Rights and our Responsibility” informed us that this ever growing and expanding effort to protect our society from injustice is not only there to protect us from injustice but is also there to help us make the accommodations when needed.

Yury closed by inspiring us with a personal story of his efforts to be an artist. Yury encouraged us to find that dream or goal that we buried away deep in our souls because someone disapproved or made fun of us.  Don’t let the doubts of your pass prevent you from experiencing your present. “You’ve Got Talent”.

Quote of the Day:

“I am determined to be happy and cheerful in whatever situation I may find myself.  For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or our unhappiness is determined not by our circumstances but by our disposition” – Martha Washington
