Meeting Recap: March 28

We had yet another wonderful meeting on March 28th.

Theresa was our toastmaster, and taught us a lesson in dedication.  She recently completed her French course at U of T to become functionally bilingual – a goal she has had since childhood, and her journey has been fraught with long-term frustration, hard work, and realistic goals.

Olga performed a popular speech with some compelling visual aids on the trials and tribulations of the TTC. Her speech included “what not to do” on the TTC.  For those who didn’t hear her speech, it involved blue seats, backpacks and cellphone talking.

Louise informed us of the benefits on business and inclusivity of installing power doors in public and private buildings.  She shared her personal experience on which options provide increased accessibility.

For our Table Topics, our chair Bob had us sell his items to our fellow toastmasters. Our winner was Natalia!
